I think it could be an exciting project, but as I mentioned in the post its all about being useful and used. I agree it will be very difficult (Or expensive) to keep your site up to date, being a teaching tool rahter than an archive, would change very fast. On the other hand, it seems like it would be so useful to teachers and others a group could be found to do just that.
